This page contains links for both local Doctors and medical sources / products and it also contains links to web sites for national organisations, such as the NHS Direct service.
Your local Pharmacist is a goldmine of knowledge and it is often very worth making them your first port of call for minor ailments, they will be only to pleased to give accurate advice and reassurance, if they can't help then they will recommend you see your Doctor.
By doing this you are taking some of the strain off the Surgery and allowing the Doctors to concentrate on non minor ailments.
However for cases of serious injury or illness you should contact your Doctor or the Emergency Service 999, but please if using 999 make sure that your call is truly necessary, as so much time is wasted on this valuable service by ailments which could have waited for the attention of a Doctor or even a Pharmacist.
